Why I can’t date Yahoo boys —Yul Edochie’s daughter, Danielle

Danielle Edochie, the daughter of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has ruled out the possibility of dating internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys, saying she cannot build a relationship with anyone whose wealth is acquired through deceiving innocent people.

The content creator made her position known in a video shared on her social media page, where she criticised the growing tendency to glamourise cybercrime and relationships involving people engaged in online fraud.

Danielle expressed surprise that some people would assume she could be interested in dating fraudsters, and finds difficult to understand why anyone would willingly choose a romantic partner whose lifestyle and financial success are built on exploiting the hard work and earnings of others.

According to her, integrity and honesty remain non-negotiable qualities in any relationship she hopes to have.

The social media personality stressed that she would never normalise or celebrate criminal behaviour for the sake of luxury or financial comfort.

She argued that a person’s source of income should reflect values that can be defended publicly, insisting that money obtained through fraudulent activities can never serve as a foundation for a healthy or meaningful relationship.

Danielle stated that she would never romanticise the idea of being with someone involved in stealing from people, whether through online scams or any other form of theft.

She said she could not imagine committing her life to a partner whose wealth is derived from other people’s hard-earned money. According to Danielle, the thought alone is unacceptable because it contradicts the principles she believes should guide personal relationships.

She ended her message with a firm warning that anyone involved in internet fraud should stay away from her.

As the daughter of one of Nollywood’s most talked-about actors, Danielle has built her own presence as a content creator, with many of her posts attracting attention across social media.
