Nigerian content creator Waga G has called on singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, one-half of the former P-Square music duo, to end his ongoing public family dispute and seek reconciliation with his brothers.
In a viral video circulating online, Waga G alleged that Peter was using the family crisis to attract public attention and promote his music, urging him to leave legal matters to the courts rather than discuss them on social media.
Waga G argued that the prolonged public exchanges over the family dispute were doing more harm than good. He maintained that social media was not the right platform to resolve sensitive family matters, stressing that continuous public statements would only deepen divisions and expose the family to criticism from supporters and critics alike.
The content creator also questioned the timing of Peter’s public comments, claiming they appeared to coincide with preparations for new music releases. According to him, the pattern suggested that the singer was taking advantage of the attention generated by the family controversy to remain relevant in the public eye.
Waga G described Peter as someone who knew how to maximise every opportunity but accused him of manipulating the situation for publicity.
Addressing the former P-Square member, Waga G said, “Peter of former P-Square, you are a wise guy. One thing I love about an Igbo man is that they make use of every opportunity that comes their way.”
He continued by alleging that Peter often revisited the family dispute before promoting new projects.
“As you talk about your issue with your brothers, you release them part one, part two, then you promote your music. I’m very sure that you are in the studio now trying to release a new song,” he added.
Waga G further stated, “But you see, you are a manipulator. I said so. I, Waga G, said that you, Peter, are a manipulator.”
Beyond his criticism, the content creator advised Peter to pursue his grievances through legal channels if he genuinely believed he had credible evidence against his brothers. He argued that allowing the court to determine the issues would be more appropriate than continuing to air the dispute publicly, warning that online debates would only encourage people to take sides.
“If you feel that you have a valuable reason and tangible evidence, tender it to the court for them to decide. You see all these things now with the posts online. Nigeria is too toxic. The only thing they are going to do is pick their own side,” he said.
Waga G repeatedly appealed to the singer to rebuild his relationship with his family, insisting that reconciliation remained the best solution despite the public disagreements. According to him, social media would not provide lasting answers to the conflict, regardless of how many statements were made online.
He also praised both Peter Okoye and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, for their contributions to the Nigerian music industry, noting that both remained talented artists with loyal fans. He encouraged them to focus on restoring their bond instead of sustaining public disagreements.
“Bro, I’m here to tell you, go back and reconcile with your family members. Stop all this problem. Social media is not going to save you. If you release music, they are listening to it. If your brother releases music, we are also listening. Both of you are talented. Nobody is better than the other. Go back and reconcile with your brothers. It is not going to help you. Rather, people will insult your brothers, and people will insult you.”
