Nigerian model and media personality Temi Otedola has disclosed that her mother, Nana Otedola, remains the ultimate authority in the Otedola household, revealing that even billionaire businessman Femi Otedola does not challenge her decisions.
Temi made the revelation during a conversation with her husband, singer, and entrepreneur Mr Eazi, on her podcast, where she shared a humorous family story involving her elder sister, DJ Cuppy.
Speaking about the dynamics within the family, Temi said her mother has always had the final say at home.
According to her, Nana Otedola commands such respect that even her father, Femi Otedola does not go against her decisions.
To illustrate her point, Temi recounted an incident involving DJ Cuppy, whose real name is Florence Otedola. She revealed that her sister once developed a strong craving for amala and was instructed by their mother to prepare the meal herself rather than rely on anyone else.
According to Temi, the cooking attempt did not go as planned, as Cuppy ended up making an unusually tough version of the popular Yoruba delicacy. Rather than allowing the meal to go to waste, Nana reportedly insisted that she finish everything she had prepared before leaving the house.
The latest revelation comes months after rumours circulated about a possible crisis in the marriage of Femi and Nana Otedola. Speculation intensified after observers noticed that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Further attention was drawn to the situation when Femi did not publicly celebrate his wife on occasions such as Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day.
The rumours gained additional traction when Femi was absent from Temi Otedola’s 30th birthday celebration in Spain. The intimate gathering was attended by Mr Eazi, Nana Otedola, DJ Cuppy, and Tolani Otedola.
However, the couple later appeared to put the speculation to rest after reuniting publicly for a family vacation with their children. Photos from the trip circulated online and were widely interpreted as a sign that there was no rift between the long-time partners.
Notably, their only son, Fewa Otedola, was absent from the family vacation photographs. While the reason for his absence was not publicly addressed, the family has previously spoken about his disability and the special care he requires.
Femi Otedola has often publicly acknowledged the role his wife played in raising their children. During Temi Otedola’s wedding last year, the billionaire businessman praised Nana for what he described as her unwavering dedication to the family. He stated that while he spent much of his early years focused on building wealth and providing for the household, Nana made significant sacrifices to ensure their children were properly raised and cared for.
