Rema, Lisa, Anitta debut ‘Goals’ at FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in LA

Afrobeats sensation Rema joined global music stars Lisa of Blackpink and Brazilian singer Anitta to deliver the live debut of their collaborative single, ‘Goals’, at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the United States.

The collaboration marks one of the tournament’s biggest entertainment moments and showcases a powerful blend of African, Asian, and Latin musical influences on football’s grandest stage.

Their appearance underscored FIFA’s effort to present a truly global spectacle, with the performers representing three major cultural regions while introducing fans to a song created specifically for the tournament.

Performing before thousands of spectators, the trio transformed the opening ceremony into a vibrant celebration of music and sport.

Rema, who represented Africa during the performance, appeared on stage in a distinctive white hooded outfit and delivered the closing segment of the song. His contribution featured an Afrobeats-inspired rap verse centred on themes of ambition, resilience and global success, drawing parallels between scoring goals on the football pitch and achieving excellence in life and music.

‘Goals’ was released in May as part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album. The track was produced by Grammy-winning producer Cirkut alongside producers Bava and Pink Slip.

The opening ceremony also featured additional performances from American rapper Future and South African music star Tyla.

The Los Angeles show came just one day after another major musical moment connected to the tournament, as Nigerian superstar Burna Boy joined Colombian singer Shakira to debut the World Cup’s official anthem, ‘Dai Dai’, during the opening ceremony held in Mexico.
