Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she has been battling severe pain and difficulties with movement for several months, disclosing that her condition has affected her freedom to move around and contributed to her prolonged absence from social media.
The actress shared the development on Saturday in a birthday video posted on her Instagram page as she marked her 25th birthday, appearing in a wheelchair while opening up about her ongoing health struggles.
Daniels, who described her 25th birthday as her silver jubilee, said her condition began with what appeared to be a minor health issue but gradually worsened, leaving her struggling with mobility.
“For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” she said.
Her disclosure offered an explanation for her absence from social media and addressed concerns from followers who had been wondering about her well-being.
Daniels further disclosed that her condition took a significant turn after the last public event she hosted, a Children’s Day carnival. She said she had undergone several medical tests since then as doctors continued investigating her health concerns.
She said the frequency of the tests had led her to describe herself as a “lab rat,” jokingly.
She did not disclose a specific diagnosis or provide further details about the nature of her illness.
Beyond the physical challenges, Daniels acknowledged the emotional toll of her prolonged health struggles, revealing that she had cried over her condition. She said she had continued to pray for divine intervention, expressing her belief that God ultimately controlled her life.
In the birthday video, the actress spoke about her desire for peace and calm as she entered a new phase of her life, while expressing hope for divine healing.
“Hi everyone. It’s my Silver Jubilee. In this new phase of my life, I pray to God for total calm. Happy birthday to me,” Daniels said in the video.
In her accompanying Instagram post, Daniels acknowledged that seeing her in a wheelchair might surprise some followers.
She explained that sharing the video was intended to address questions about her absence and update people who had expressed concern about her well-being.
