Priscilla Ojo and son

Priscilla Ojo, son receive lavish welcome in Tanzania from Juma Jux

Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has reunited with her husband, the Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, in a lavish homecoming that marked the one-month milestone of their newborn son, Rakeem Mkambala.

The celebration, which took place in Tanzania, followed months of public interest in the couple’s union, the birth of their child in Canada, and Juma’s inability to attend the delivery due to visa challenges.

Videos shared online showed Juma warmly receiving Priscilla and their son at the airport with fresh flowers and gifts. Their arrival home was marked by an elaborate blue-themed party featuring balloons, framed family photographs, and a large banner reading “Welcome Home Mommy and Rakeem.”

A standee spelling out “RAKEEM” completed the décor.

Iyabo Ojo, who joined the family for the occasion, playfully teased her son-in-law about the scale of the arrangements.

“Juma, you are so extra. What happened? Rakeem is actually one month old,” she said.

In response, Juma proudly declared, “My son. Yes. My first son.”

Priscilla, visibly moved by the display, exclaimed, “Oh, my God. Papa Rakeem is extra.”

Iyabo described the homecoming as “so beautiful.”

The reunion comes after a difficult period for the family. In August, Priscilla gave birth to Rakeem in Canada without her husband present. Juma was denied a Canadian visa at the time, a setback widely reported to be linked to immigration scrutiny.

The absence became a subject of debate among fans, though Juma remained vocal about his excitement at becoming a father.

Weeks later, Iyabo Ojo shared on social media that baby Rakeem had obtained his Canadian passport, confirming his citizenship. The development drew widespread attention, with congratulatory messages flooding the family’s accounts.

This latest celebration also builds on earlier milestones in the couple’s relationship. Priscilla and Juma tied the knot in Tanzania in February 2025 in a cross-cultural wedding ceremony that attracted media coverage across Nigeria and East Africa.

Their union was seen as a high-profile link between the Nigerian film industry and Tanzania’s music scene.

Since then, the couple’s relationship has remained a subject of fascination online, with dedicated fan pages documenting their journey into parenthood.

From Priscilla’s pregnancy updates to Juma’s posts expressing anticipation for fatherhood, the pair have built a loyal following that closely tracks their milestones.

On Wednesday, both Priscilla and Juma shared clips of the reunion on their Instagram stories. Priscilla posted a simple photo captioned “Home,” while Juma uploaded a short video featuring baby Rakeem and Iyabo Ojo, further fuelling an outpouring of congratulatory messages.

With Rakeem’s arrival now officially celebrated in Tanzania, the couple appear set on embracing parenthood while continuing to share their story with fans across two countries.
