Popular TikTok content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, has indicated that he may discontinue his university education, barely days after announcing his admission to study law at a private university in Lagos State, citing concerns that schooling is negatively impacting his earnings.
The influencer made the revelation during a voice note and live interaction with his followers on Tuesday, where he complained that spending long hours in lectures was limiting his ability to make money as a full-time content creator.
According to him, the demands of attending classes without any financial returns were frustrating and had forced him to reconsider his decision to pursue formal education at this stage of his career.
Peller explained that sitting in class for several hours without generating income was unacceptable to him, adding that the experience left him feeling unproductive.
“I was in class for four hours. I didn’t make any money. I will write, I will look, I will play, not making anything. God forbid. I am not doing that one again,” he said.
Peller also said he felt uncomfortable among his classmates, whom he described as significantly older than him. According to him, being the youngest person in the class made him feel out of place.
“When I enter the school, I notice that everyone is old. I am the only young blood there,” he stated.
The content creator further disclosed that he might consider returning to school later in life, suggesting that formal education could wait until he was older and financially stable.
“So I need to go old. Maybe when I clock like 30, 40 years. I will now go to school. Please, cancel everything. I am tired,” he added.
The remarks mark a sharp reversal from Peller’s recent excitement over gaining admission into a law programme. Just days earlier, the influencer had shared a viral video announcing his admission, although he declined to name the institution involved.
In that video, Peller appeared to address critics who had mocked his grammar and educational background, expressing pride in his admission and confidence in his academic future.
“Everyone has been criticising me for not being educated, as if I am the first person who didn’t attend university. Now, all of you should leave social media, because I am in school,” he said.
“I am now studying law. You can see it, right? You can’t mess with me anymore. I know the law,” he added.
Peller has faced sustained criticism online over his spoken English and educational background, with some social media users describing him as “uneducated.” Earlier this month, he disclosed plans to further his education, noting that the move was partly aimed at improving his spoken English.
Peller has also remained in the public eye following a recent controversy surrounding the visit of American streamer IShowSpeed to Nigeria, which generated mixed reactions online.
His latest comments have since reignited conversations on social media about the balance between formal education and financial success in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
