Nigerian influencer Abike Halima Raheem, popularly known as Papaya Ex, has broken down in tears after alleging that her YouTube manager deleted her movie, ‘Spotlight’, from the platform after it had amassed about 2.7 million views and 10,000 comments, wiping out what she described as result of significant personal effort invested in the project.
The social media personality made the allegation in an emotional video circulating online, where she struggled to contain her tears while explaining what had happened.
According to Papaya Ex, the loss was particularly painful because of the time and commitment she put into producing and promoting the movie before its release.
She claimed that she had fasted for 30 days while working towards the success of ‘Spotlight’, making its alleged deletion difficult for her to process.
Papaya Ex said the situation had left her feeling as though her hard work had disappeared and accused the person managing her YouTube account of being responsible for removing the film.
The influencer said her mental health had been affected and that she was uncertain about what she would do next.
Her claim has attracted attention online, particularly because of the size of the audience she said the movie had already reached.
