Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has publicly responded after his twin brother, Peter Okoye, alleged that members of their family, including their late mother, mistreated his wife, Lola Omotayo, during her pregnancy.
Paul addressed the claims in a brief social media message, saying their late mother was no longer alive to defend herself, a response that has added another chapter to the brothers’ ongoing public dispute.
Peter had made the allegations in a video shared online as part of his continuing series of public revelations about his relationship with his brothers.
According to him, their late mother repeatedly pressured Lola to leave him, while some of his siblings allegedly insisted that she terminate her pregnancy. He further claimed that an email was forged in an attempt to implicate his wife during the family conflict.
Responding on his social media pages, Paul directed his message to their late mother, expressing sadness that she could no longer speak for herself. “Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum,” he wrote, offering no further explanation or direct response to the allegations raised by Peter.
The latest exchange comes after nearly a week of escalating accusations between the former Psquare bandmates, whose public disagreement has continued to unfold through a series of online videos and statements.
The dispute intensified after Paul made comments about his “Who Naija help” statement, prompting Peter to begin releasing what he described as a tell-all account of events surrounding their fractured relationship.
In the first instalment of the series, Peter accused Paul of consistently trying to undermine him and throwing subtle jabs at him over the years. Declaring that he was no longer willing to remain silent, he stated that he was prepared to respond to every action directed at him.
Peter followed up with another video in which he alleged that Paul proposed a revenue-sharing arrangement that would allocate 35 per cent each to the twins while giving their elder brother, Jude Okoye, 30 per cent.
He questioned why Jude should continue managing their affairs, noting that they had worked with three different managers before him.
The accusations continued in another episode, where Peter claimed he discovered he was no longer a signatory to Northside Entertainment’s bank account while attempting to obtain the company’s statement of account. He described the development as a betrayal and questioned why his own brothers would allegedly take such actions if money was not a significant issue.
Jude Okoye rejected those claims, accusing Peter of attempting to manipulate public opinion through social media while legal proceedings relating to the matter were still ongoing. He maintained that he would not comment extensively on issues currently before the courts.
Peter later released additional videos alleging that Jude once threatened to shoot him during a disagreement over the ownership of a property in the United States after he questioned plans to sell it.
Jude responded by expressing disappointment over the public allegations and said he had committed the matter to God, adding that Peter would remain in his prayers.
In subsequent instalments, Peter alleged that he was served a letter preventing him from performing Psquare songs and claimed that two mansions were purchased without his knowledge. He also accused his brothers of stealing $3.2 million from their foreign exchange account in 2013, describing the alleged betrayal as especially painful because it involved members of his own family.
The latest allegations come years after Psquare’s widely reported 2023 fallout, which Peter linked to claims that joint funds were diverted by their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
