Owolabi Ajasa debunks death rumour

Veteran Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa has dismissed rumours claiming he has died, assuring fans he is alive and in good health.

The Yoruba film star addressed the false reports in a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday after an obituary poster bearing his name circulated across social media.

Ajasa described the reports as untrue, urged the public to disregard the viral obituary, and reassured his supporters that there was nothing wrong with his health.

“My name still remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans both in Nigeria and abroad that I’m still much alive. I’m alive, hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me,” the actor said.

Ajasa condemned those responsible for creating and sharing the misleading information, describing the act as unacceptable.

“To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying it back to the sender and to their family,” he added.

Known for his portrayals of police officers in Yoruba-language films, Ajasa has remained one of Nollywood’s most recognisable character actors over the years.

His signature catchphrase, “Ta lo pa chief?” has become closely associated with his screen persona and continues to resonate with audiences who have followed his career.
