Content creator and streamer Carter Efe has claimed that fellow streamer Peller and his wife, Jarvis, may have been pressured into getting married, predicting that the couple could regret the decision in four years.
Carter made the statement while explaining his absence from Peller and Jarvis’ highly publicised wedding.
According to him, he was not invited to the ceremony and believes the couple’s decision to marry was influenced by the pressure surrounding their relationship and online popularity.
“I wasn’t invited to Peller and Jarvis’ wedding. I think they were pressured into getting married, and I believe they will regret it in four years when they realise that the internet doesn’t really care about them that much,” Carter said in the interview.
His comments have added another layer to the already strained relationship between the two prominent figures in Nigeria’s streaming space.
Carter and Peller have had a turbulent relationship marked by online banter, rivalry over streaming achievements and several public disagreements, despite having collaborated in the past.
The controversy surrounding Carter’s absence from the wedding had already surfaced during the couple’s wedding festivities. Content creator Tunde Perry reportedly claimed that Carter Efe’s pictures were pasted at the wedding venue, allegedly to prevent anyone from allowing him into the event.
Peller also reportedly confirmed during a conversation with Tunde Perry that Carter had been barred from attending his wedding. The development further highlighted the tension between the two streamers, who have continued to compete for recognition as leading figures in Nigeria’s rapidly growing streaming industry.
Their strained relationship has previously played out publicly during livestreams. One notable clash occurred over Peller’s decision to take Jarvis on a vacation to the Maldives, with Carter criticising the move and questioning Peller’s priorities.
During another livestream with Sandra, Carter also dragged Peller over his relationship with his mother. He argued that Peller should have prioritised his mother over his lover and alleged that the streamer did not take proper care of her, pointing to her continued use of a BlackBerry phone.
Carter further claimed that he had once been rushing to Ikorodu to see his mother when she was sick, using the situation to question Peller’s treatment of his own mother.
The exchange escalated, with Peller asking Carter to leave the livestream because he was no longer interested in engaging with him.
Peller subsequently defended his relationship with his mother, explaining that he gives her whatever she asks for. He also pushed back against Carter’s argument about prioritising his mother, saying he could not cuddle her when he was cold at night or share a kiss with her.
