Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has revealed that she lost a nearly four-month pregnancy while filming a movie, recounting how Pastor Bolaji Idowu supported her financially and spiritually during the difficult period.
Abraham shared the experience at the Bestie Jesu Concert 2026 held in Lagos on Saturday, where she spoke about the miscarriage and the support she received after informing the cleric.
The actress said the pregnancy loss occurred while she was on a movie set, leaving her emotionally devastated as she also had to prepare for a medical procedure following the miscarriage.
She explained that she initially hesitated to inform her parents, particularly her mother, because of her age and her concern about putting her through additional distress.
“I was 4 months, but I lost it. But guess what, I was filming, so I was down,” Abraham said.
She added that the circumstances made the loss particularly difficult as she was away from the comfort of her family while dealing with the situation.
According to the actress, she eventually informed her husband about the pregnancy loss, but he was far away at the time. She then decided to contact Pastor Bolaji Idowu, who she said immediately began praying for her and asked about her location and what was happening.
Abraham said she informed the pastor that doctors were preparing to carry out an evacuation procedure following the miscarriage. She said Pastor Bolaji, the senior pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, subsequently sent her millions of naira to help cover her medical expenses.
The actress expressed appreciation to the cleric for the support he provided during the difficult period, publicly thanking him at the concert and praying for God’s blessings upon him.
Abraham has continued to maintain a presence in Nigeria’s film industry as an actress and filmmaker, while also participating in public events where she discusses aspects of her personal and professional journey.
