The immediate past United States Vice President Kamala Harris has said that she cannot wait for people to read her new book ‘107 Days’, as she sets out on a 15-city tour beginning on September 24th.
Kamala Harris served as the forty-ninth vice president of the United States from 2021 to 2025, and the first woman in American history to hold the office.
The 320-page book, published by Simon & Schuster and coming up on September 23, has been described as the number one best seller in political leader biographies.
Speaking about the political memoir that reveals that her “Secret Service code name is Pioneer”, Harris added that the inspiration for the book was derived from a journal in which she wrote her reflections and recollections of “the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.”
“Writing 107 Days felt like living the campaign in reverse — rewinding each moment and experiencing it all over again. Behind every speech I gave, hand I shook, and story I told on the road, there were deeper layers, quiet reflections, and lessons learned,” she said.
Harris further said that the book is not a recap of the presidential campaign race, but a candid personal account of her journey in the course of the campaign.
In writing the book, Harris collaborated with Geraldine Brooks to give it a novelistic feel.
Simon & Schuster CEO, Jonathan Karp, who coedited ‘107 Days’ with Dawn Davis, stated that the book reads more like a suspense novel than a political memoir.
An audiobook version of the memoir narrated by Harris was announced to be published on Audible.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ 15-city book tour, which begins on September 24th, will feature conversations at many major venues across US cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Washington DC, and Chicago.
The tour includes an international component with a stop in London on October 23rd and extends into November with appearances in Portland, Toronto, Nashville, and Miami.
