Award-winning Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have welcomed their second child, just two days after celebrating their third wedding anniversary.
The couple announced the joyful news on Friday via social media, sharing celebratory maternity photos and heartfelt messages of gratitude to God. Although they kept the newborn’s name and gender private, their statement was filled with praise and thanksgiving.
“The Lord has done it again! He has added to our joy, multiplied our laughter and blessed us with the precious gift of a second baby. We declare, His name will be lifted in our lineage forever. Generations from us will walk in His light. Through us, many will be blessed, and the nations will call us blessed. To the glory of God… Welcome, our precious gift,” Chinwo wrote.
In a personal tribute, she described her husband as “an amazing father of two” and thanked God for His continuous goodness in their lives.
“Oh my love @theofficialblessed – an amazing father of two! The Lord has indeed been good to us,” she added.
The announcement came shortly after the couple marked their third wedding anniversary on August 13, 2025. They commemorated the occasion with a vintage-inspired photoshoot, sharing elegant portraits and messages reflecting on their journey together.

Mercy Chinwo and Pastor Blessed tied the knot in a high-profile wedding in Port Harcourt on August 13, 2022. Fourteen months later, they welcomed their first child, a son, on October 4, 2023. Known affectionately to fans as “Baby Charis,” his arrival was widely celebrated within Nigeria’s gospel community.
Chinwo rose to national fame after winning Nigerian Idol Season 2 and has since become one of Africa’s most acclaimed gospel artists, with multiple awards and hit songs to her credit.
Her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, serves as the senior pastor of Water Brook Church in Lagos and is recognised for his inspiring sermons and leadership.
