Ayoola Adeleke marries Jessica Williams

Davido’s brother Ayoola Adeleke weds Jessica Williams in Lagos traditional ceremony

Nicholas Ayoola Adeleke, the eldest sibling of Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially wedded his fiancée, Jessica Williams, in a traditional Yoruba wedding ceremony held on Tuesday at the Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos.

The wedding drew numerous high-profile guests, including business tycoons, political leaders, and cultural figures.

Prominent attendees included billionaire Deji Adeleke, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and Davido, who attended with his daughter, Imade Adeleke.

A defining moment of the event occurred when Governor Ademola Adeleke and Dr Adedeji Adeleke, the groom’s father, performed a full prostration before the bride’s family, in line with Yoruba matrimonial customs.

Widely shared online, the gesture represented humility, respect, and acceptance, highlighting the cultural significance of honouring one’s in-laws, regardless of social standing or wealth.

The traditional ceremony was a vibrant display of Yoruba culture, featuring elaborate décor that blended gold tones with indigenous motifs and intricately styled Aso Ebi outfits worn by family members and guests.

The bride, Jessica Williams, looked radiant in a richly beaded Aso Oke ensemble, while the groom and his family embraced matching traditional attire, reflecting the family’s dedication to cultural values and grandeur.

Davido’s appearance at the wedding added a celebrity dimension to the occasion. He was seen celebrating with his daughter Imade, creating memorable moments captured in photos and video footage shared online. Imade, dressed elegantly, joined her father in celebrating her uncle’s marriage, while other Adeleke grandchildren interacted with their grandfather, Deji Adeleke.

According to sources, the couple is set to hold their white wedding later this month in Atlanta, United States, further extending the celebrations beyond Lagos.

The wedding was characterised by a combination of elegance and cultural symbolism, with every aspect, from attire to ceremonial gestures, underscoring the Adeleke family’s respect for heritage.

The public prostration by both the governor and the groom’s father reinforced the importance of humility in Yoruba culture, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and viewers across social media platforms.

The occasion highlighted the Adeleke family’s prominence in Nigerian social, business, and political circles, while also underscoring the cultural values that remain central to their identity.

The combination of family heritage, celebrity presence, and traditional customs has positioned the wedding as one of the most talked-about social events of 2025 in Lagos.
