Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has officially been unveiled as the new brand ambassador for luxury whisky brand The Macallan in Nigeria, marking a major collaboration between the award-winning singer and the globally recognised beverage company.
The announcement was made during the launch of The Macallan Timeless Collection held at The Anthonia by Civic Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, where entertainment personalities, business executives, and media figures gathered to witness the unveiling of the brand’s redesigned Double Cask and Sherry Oak collections.
According to the company, the partnership with Adekunle Gold was inspired by shared values centred on craftsmanship, creativity, excellence and legacy. The collaboration also reflects the singer’s growing influence within lifestyle, entertainment, and luxury culture in Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking at the unveiling event, Adekunle Gold described the partnership as one built on authenticity and intentionality, noting that both his creative journey and The Macallan’s identity are rooted in patience and quality.
He said, “This partnership is rooted in shared values, craftsmanship, excellence, legacy, class, and the beauty of taking time to create something meaningful. Everything I create, whether through music, culture, or storytelling, is built with intention, and that is what makes this relationship with The Macallan feel both natural and deeply authentic.”
The singer added that timeless work is never rushed, expressing excitement about future collaborations and projects expected to emerge from the partnership.
The unveiling also formally confirmed months of collaboration between the whisky brand and the Afro-pop singer. Before the official announcement, both parties had worked together on several lifestyle and entertainment initiatives, including the exclusive Coco Money dinner hosted at Kaly Restaurant in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Macallan was also featured prominently during the rollout and launch campaign for Adekunle Gold’s ‘Coco Money’ music video, further strengthening the relationship between the brand and the artiste before the public confirmation of their partnership.
Their collaboration equally extended into activities surrounding the release celebrations for Adekunle Gold’s Fuji album in October 2025, where the luxury whisky brand participated in curated cultural experiences tied to the project.
Also, speaking on the partnership, Hammed Adebiyi, Senior Brand Manager for Nigeria, West and Central Africa at Edrington, stated that the collaboration aligns with The Macallan’s long-standing identity and strategic cultural direction in the region.
According to him, Adekunle Gold represents values that mirror the brand’s emphasis on excellence, authenticity, and timeless creativity, making him a fitting ambassador for the whisky company in Nigeria.
Over the years, Adekunle Gold has evolved beyond music into fashion, lifestyle, and cultural branding, positioning himself among Nigerian entertainers with strong commercial appeal and global relevance.
