‘Absently Present’: The mysterious disappearance of a man and the drama that follows

‘Absently Present’ is a literary short fiction that tells the story of Oma, a woman who tries to wrap her head around her husband’s mysterious disappearance, and the drama that follows.

The story explains the sad tale most Nigerians are used to of relatives travelling out of the country in a bid to pursue their dreams, but end up not being heard from again. It cuts across family and borders on dilemmas arising from ethical misconduct.

It is an honour and privilege for my work, ‘Absently Present’, to be deemed worthy of publication in the maiden edition of the Naira Stories. I’m truly thankful to the magazine for believing in my work and giving it the needed opportunity to make an impression in the literary world.
