Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Pepper Dem housemate, Tacha Akide, has disclosed that she is currently in a relationship while explaining why she has chosen to keep details of her love life away from the public.
The reality TV star made the revelation during an appearance on the Morayo Afolabi show, where she also opened up about the kind of man she would want as a partner.
Tacha said she prefers not to publicly describe herself as being in a committed relationship until there is a more serious level of commitment, particularly a ring.
She explained that relationships can change and that publicly announcing one could expose her to unnecessary scrutiny if the relationship eventually ends.
“Well, there’s something I like, but if there’s no ring, are you going to come and say I’m in a relationship? I would say that he’s somebody I like, but who knows? I could be on the show next week and say I’m not in a relationship, break up and come back, but for now I’m in a relationship,” she said.
The beautician and influencer noted that keeping her relationship private also helps shield her from the intense public attention that often follows celebrity breakups.
According to her, ending a relationship in the public eye can attract considerable commentary, making it difficult for those involved to deal with the situation privately.
Tacha also spoke about the importance of having a companion while working in the entertainment industry. Despite the fame and opportunities that come with her career, she described the industry as a lonely space and said having someone close can provide companionship.
“In this industry, you need that one person because it is always lonely at the top,” she stated.
Speaking about her preferred qualities in a partner, Tacha said she is particularly attracted to quiet and reserved men who become more expressive when they are around her. She said she wants a man who maintains composure in public but is talkative and outspoken in private.
“Wow, I love very quiet guys. I want you to be very talky around me, very outspoken around me, but outside maintain steeze, somebody that keeps to himself, an amazing hardworking guy and also need to love God as much I do,” she said.
Beyond personality, Tacha said hard work and a shared love for God are important qualities she expects from her ideal partner. She also made it clear that she does not want a man who places too much emphasis on his physical appearance.
The reality star joked that she would rather be the more attractive person in the relationship, while also stressing that financial stability matters to her.
“Please I don’t like a beautiful man, I should be the very fine one and then have money too so I will not be managing your roller coaster of emotions,” she added.
