Nollywood actress Funke Etti has alleged that a movie director attempted to lure her into having sex with him after she was promised a lead role in a film.
The actress made the disclosure during an interview with Doyin Kukoyi, recounting how what she expected to be a professional meeting allegedly turned into an unwanted sexual advance.
Funke said she was on a movie set when the producer informed her that she would play the lead character. According to the actress, the director later asked her to meet him in his room, and she agreed because she viewed him as someone occupying a position of authority within the production.
However, Funke alleged that the meeting took an unexpected turn when the director made sexual advances towards her. She said she rejected the advances despite the influence he appeared to hold over her potential role in the production.
Funke further alleged that her decision to reject the director subsequently affected her chances of playing the role she had been promised. According to her account, the director went to the producer after she turned him down and questioned whether she was suitable for the lead character.
Funke did not identify the director involved in the alleged incident in the account provided.
The report referenced similar accounts from other entertainment personalities, including actress Bimbo Ademoye and singer Yemi Alade, who have previously spoken about alleged attempts by industry figures to take advantage of women seeking opportunities.
