Kira Taiwo, daughter of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, has revealed that her father cannot currently be flown to India for cancer treatment because he is not medically fit to travel, despite having secured an Indian visa.
Kira disclosed this in an Instagram post while appealing for recommendations for a hospital or treatment centre that could help her father, who is battling stage 4 cancer.
She clarified that the family is seeking medical assistance and expert recommendations rather than financial support.
According to her, the Indian visa had already been granted, but her father’s health condition has made travelling abroad impossible at this time. She appealed to anyone with access to suitable medical care to help identify a specialist or facility capable of treating the actor.
Kira also acknowledged the financial support her family has received from Senator Adeola Yayi, stressing that financial assistance was not what they were seeking at the moment. She said the priority was finding someone who could provide the appropriate treatment for her father.
In her appeal, Kira said, “Senator Adeola Yayi is ready, and he is been the one supporting us financially.”
She added that what the family needs is someone who can treat the actor and help him through his current health challenge.
Her disclosure comes after she recently sought information online about hospitals and traditional treatment centres that could provide treatment for her father. The appeal has drawn attention to the veteran actor’s condition and the difficulties surrounding his search for appropriate medical care.
Taiwo Hassan has previously spoken publicly about a prolonged health struggle, including a seven-year battle with a chronic ulcer. He described the illness as severe and said it affected his ability to eat normal food for years.
The actor also recounted how the condition affected his daily life, saying there was a period when he had to pray while sitting because standing or lying flat caused him significant pain. He further revealed that he experienced drastic weight loss during the difficult period.
Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, is a veteran Nollywood actor whose career spans several decades. His health situation has prompted concern among fans and colleagues, with his family now concentrating on securing the medical attention he needs.
