Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his wedding ring is the most important item he never travels without, describing it as a symbol of his commitment to his wife and the vows he has made as a married man.
The award-winning singer disclosed this during an interview with Mystery Fashionist, where he opened up about his personal fashion preferences, his shopping habits, and the items he considers essential whenever he is travelling.
Davido explained that while he values luxury accessories and high-end fashion, none of them carries the same significance as his wedding ring.
According to Davido, his wedding ring serves as a constant reminder of his marital commitment and publicly signifies that he has a life partner. He said the piece of jewellery holds deep personal meaning beyond its material value, making it the most treasured item in his collection.
The singer also disclosed the five fashion essentials he always travels with, a list that reflects both practicality and his taste for luxury.
According to Davido, his travel must-haves include his American passport, Bottega headphones, an 18k Rolex wristwatch, his wedding ring, and a Cuban link chain weighing more than a kilogram, which he estimated is worth almost one million dollars.
Reflecting on his passion for fashion, Davido said his interest in dressing well dates back to his childhood. He explained that he has always enjoyed looking good and shopping, although his busy schedule no longer allows him to spend as much time visiting stores. As a result, he now relies on the expertise of a stylist to help manage his wardrobe and fashion choices.
Despite delegating much of his shopping to a stylist, the singer said he still enjoys buying gifts for his wife whenever the opportunity arises. He revealed that every visit to a store usually ends with him purchasing something for her, adding that she remains a major source of inspiration behind many of his shopping decisions.
He said recently bought a pair of heels for his wife and described the gesture as part of a routine he has maintained over time.
