Nollywood actor Stan Nze has revealed why he does not allow bubu gowns in his house, saying he prefers to see his wife, actress Blessing Obasi, in outfits that complement her figure.
Speaking during an interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, the actor said he admires his wife’s body size and described himself as a fulfilled husband who values both her physical appearance and their emotional connection.
Stan said his wife is fully aware of his dislike for bubu gowns and understands his preference. He explained that he appreciates her physique because, in his words, it gives him “something to hold on to” and keeps his hands “always full.”
While acknowledging her figure, the actor stressed that his admiration goes beyond physical appearance, adding that he is completely content with the woman he married.
The actor also used the opportunity to speak about the qualities that have sustained their marriage, saying genuine companionship matters more than appearance. According to him, Blessing constantly makes him laugh, and they are able to discuss virtually every aspect of life without pressure.
He described their communication and friendship as the foundation of the happiness and fulfilment he enjoys in their relationship.
In a recent interview, his wife, Blessing, recalled how she was body-shamed during the early days of their marriage, especially around the time they celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
She revealed that when Stan first shared her photograph on social media, many people questioned their relationship because she appeared older than him. According to Blessing, some critics claimed she looked about ten years older than her husband, prompting negative comments that targeted her appearance rather than their relationship.
Despite the public scrutiny, the couple have remained vocal about their commitment to each other. Stan and Blessing got married in 2021 and welcomed their first child, a son, in 2023.
The actor has also defended his wife against criticism on social media. Last year, he responded to a troll who questioned why Blessing had not adopted his surname on her social media accounts.
Stan dismissed the criticism, urging the individual to stay out of other people’s personal affairs and focus on their own life instead.
