Spyro reveals meeting partner in nightclub

Nigerian singer Spyro has shared the story of how he met his partner, Janet Atom, revealing that their relationship began after they crossed paths at a nightclub where she worked.

Speaking during an interview, the music star explained that their first encounter was rooted in curiosity rather than romance, with what started as a simple conversation eventually growing into a committed relationship.

The singer clarified that Janet was not at the nightclub to socialise but was there in a professional capacity. He stressed that his account should not be interpreted as criticism of people who go clubbing, adding that it was her presence at work that caught his attention and prompted him to find out more about her.

According to Spyro, his interest in understanding why she worked at the club led to their first conversation, which gradually blossomed into a friendship. Over time, he said he discovered qualities in Janet that aligned with what he had always wanted in a life partner, prompting him to reconsider his initial outlook on their relationship.

Reflecting on the early stages of their friendship, Spyro said marriage was not part of his plans when they first met. However, as they spent more time together and got to know each other better, he realised she possessed the character and values he had been searching for, leading him to pursue the relationship seriously.

The singer explained that the transition from friendship to romance happened naturally as he gained a deeper appreciation of Janet’s personality. He said the more he interacted with her, the more convinced he became that she was someone he did not want to lose.

“I met her working in the club, not partying in the club, but that’s not to say that partying is wrong. But she was working there and that’s how I got to notice her. I was curious to know why she was there and why she was working at the club, and that was what made me have my first conversation with her,” Spyro said.

“We got talking and we became friends. Then one day my eyes popped up and I was like, ‘Oh, what I have been looking for was right in front of me,’ because I wasn’t really thinking of making it a lifetime thing, so I said before I quickly miss it, let me swing into action,” he said.
