JAMB confirms release of 2026 UTME original results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can begin printing their original result slips from Wednesday.

The examination body disclosed that the original result slip contains several security features and personal details intended to strengthen its credibility and acceptance during admission procedures.

In a statement issued in Abuja, JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the result slip goes beyond the basic score notification previously made available to candidates.

According to him, the document includes candidates’ photographs, national rankings, and additional security elements designed to enhance authenticity and reduce the risk of forgery.

The board explained that the slip remains an important requirement for post-UTME screening and admission consideration by universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions across the country.

Benjamin noted that candidates can conveniently print the slip using any internet-enabled device. He added that accredited business centres across the country are also available to assist candidates who may not have direct access to printing facilities or internet services.

JAMB advised candidates to carefully review all information contained on the printed document immediately after obtaining it. The board stressed the importance of verifying personal details and examination information to ensure accuracy before submission to any institution.

The examination body further urged candidates to keep copies of the document in a secure location for future use. Beyond admission screening, the original result slip may be required for other admission-related processes and official verification exercises during a candidate’s academic journey.
