Baba Ijesha welcomes baby boy months after release from prison

Actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has announced the birth of his son, months after regaining freedom following a high-profile legal battle that kept him away from the public for several years.

The Nollywood actor shared the news on Instagram on Monday, posting maternity photographs featuring himself and his wife, popularly known as Ceolumineeofficial.

Alongside the images, Baba Ijesha revealed the name of their newborn son as King Kagar Omiyinka and expressed gratitude to God for what he described as a special blessing for his family.

The actor said the arrival of his son was part of a divine plan, and paid tribute to his wife, whom he described as strong and supportive throughout their journey to parenthood.

“In quiet ways, in unseen ways, God has been writing a story only He could tell. We thank the Almighty for blessing us with a healthy baby boy,” he wrote.

The announcement represents a major development in Baba Ijesha’s personal life since his return to public attention following his release from prison.

In November 2025, Baba Ijesha regained his freedom three years after he was convicted and sentenced by an Ikeja Special Offences Court. The court had, in July 2022, handed him a 16-year prison sentence in a case that generated widespread reactions across Nigeria’s entertainment industry and among members of the public.

As part of his efforts to re-establish himself in the entertainment space, Baba Ijesha released a song titled ‘Eniwaye Dáràn’. According to him, the project was intended to communicate his position on the circumstances that resulted in his imprisonment and to reinforce his claims of innocence.
