Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has again declared his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying his decision is based on what he described as divine guidance.
The actor made the revelation during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he stated that God has consistently guided him on political choices and continues to direct him toward supporting Tinubu.
According to Edochie, he has no intention of withdrawing his support for the president because he believes the instruction is spiritual and personal.
Edochie explained that his political stance is not influenced by public opinion or social media criticism, insisting that he follows what God reveals to him. He stressed that he would continue to stand with Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress despite the backlash that often trails his political comments online.
“Because I want to support him and God — I have said it before in an interview — God has always shown me who to support, and he keeps showing me Tinubu, and I am going to stand by him,” he said during the interview.
When asked whether he believes God plays a role in elections, the actor responded that while he could not speak for others, God is involved in his own decisions and has clearly shown him the direction to follow politically.
“I don’t know if he is involved on your side, but he is involved in mine; He showed me where to go,” Edochie added.
The actor remains one of the most outspoken celebrity supporters of President Tinubu since the 2023 presidential election.
Over the years, Edochie has repeatedly used his social media platforms to defend the administration and advocate support for the ruling party. His comments have often generated heated reactions among Nigerians, especially on social media where political conversations remain deeply divided.
The actor has faced criticism in the past from fans and colleagues who disagree with his political views, but he has remained unwavering in his stance. Despite repeated online attacks, Edochie continues to defend the administration and insists he is acting according to divine direction.
