Actress Annie Macaulay has officially announced her return to acting, revealing that she is back on set for a new movie project months after her highly publicised separation from music star 2Baba.
The actress shared a video from a film location on Instagram, expressing excitement about reconnecting with a profession she described as deeply meaningful to her.
According to her, returning to acting has reignited her passion for storytelling and reminded her of the journey that first drew her into the entertainment industry.
Macaulay said the experience of stepping back onto a movie set has brought renewed joy and inspiration, adding that she is grateful for personal growth, fresh opportunities, and the chance to continue building her career through film projects. She described the moment as the beginning of a new chapter in her life and career.
“There is something so beautiful about finding your way back to the things that make your soul come alive,” she wrote.
The actress stated that acting would always remain special to her, noting that being back on set and portraying different characters reminded her why she chose the profession in the first place.
“Being back on set, creating stories, becoming different characters, and doing what I truly love reminds me of why I started this journey in the first place. Acting will always have a special place in my heart, and I’m honestly so happy to be back doing what brings me joy,” she added.
She also expressed appreciation for the opportunities ahead, saying the “magic” of acting remains strong.
“Grateful for growth, new beginnings, and every opportunity to keep telling stories through film. The magic is still there… and this is only the beginning again,” she wrote.
Her return to acting comes after a challenging period in her personal life following her divorce from 2Baba, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated musicians. The separation attracted widespread public attention and sparked conversations across social media and entertainment circles.
After news of the breakup became public, Macaulay cleared her Instagram page, deleting photos and previous posts before later returning to thank friends, family members, and supporters who stood by her during the difficult phase of her life.
Since the separation, the mother of two has focused on rebuilding her personal life and pursuing new ventures. She had earlier hinted at several creative and entrepreneurial projects, including plans to launch an online television platform.
Macaulay remains one of the notable faces in Nollywood, having featured in several popular productions over the years. She is widely recognised for her roles in movies such as ‘Blackberry Babes’, ‘Pleasure and Crime’ and ‘Morning After Dark’.
Her latest announcement has already generated excitement among fans and followers, many of whom welcomed her return to the screen and expressed anticipation for her upcoming project.
