Nollywood actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has confirmed that she has reconciled with her former husband and father of her child, Olakunle Churchill, effectively closing the chapter on nearly ten years of public hostility, legal battles, and strained relations between the ex-couple.
The actress disclosed in an emotional Instagram post on Friday, revealing that the renewed peace between them came after years of prayer, reflection, and what she described as divine intervention.
According to Dikeh, the reconciliation followed a prolonged period marked by resentment and public disputes, particularly over the upbringing of their son, King Andre.
She explained that calm and mutual understanding have now replaced years of tension, describing the development as a deeply personal turning point.
Dikeh further said that the reconciliation was achieved not through human effort but through faith, patience, and what she credited to the consistent prayers of their child.
Less than a day later, Churchill also confirmed the reconciliation in a separate Instagram post, announcing that he had spoken with his son for the first time in almost a decade.
He described the moment as emotional and fulfilling, saying that hearing King Andre call him “Daddy” reaffirmed his belief in restoration and forgiveness.
Churchill stated that both parents have agreed to prioritise healthy co-parenting and shared responsibility moving forward. He noted that the renewed relationship is focused on creating a peaceful environment for their son and putting past conflicts behind them.
The reconciliation comes after years of intense public scrutiny following the collapse of their marriage in 2016, barely a year after their highly publicised wedding in 2015.
Their separation sparked widespread controversy, fuelled by allegations of domestic abuse and misconduct, which Churchill has repeatedly denied.
Over the years, disputes between the former couple frequently played out in the public space, with custody and access to their son remaining central issues. Churchill has consistently maintained that the marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences and what he described as false accusations.
In her latest message, Dikeh expressed appreciation for Churchill’s decision to embrace peace, stating that obedience to God ultimately led to healing and reconciliation.
She encouraged others experiencing prolonged personal conflicts not to give up, emphasising that faith and patience can restore broken relationships.
The development coincides with Dikeh’s visible recommitment to her Christian faith, a journey she has openly documented on social media. She described the reconciliation as a testimony, urging the public to believe that even deeply fractured relationships can find healing.
Both Dikeh and Churchill have indicated that their renewed relationship is rooted in mutual respect and shared parenting responsibilities, marking a fresh chapter after years of public discord.
