Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has announced that she is ready to get married, emphasising that she values good character and genuine kindness in a partner more than wealth or social status.
In a recent interview with broadcaster Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the 34-year-old actress stated that she would prefer to marry a kind-hearted man, regardless of his financial standing, noting that other shortcomings could be addressed over time.
She described kindness as a non-negotiable trait in anyone she considers for a lifelong relationship.
“I am 34 and at a stage in my life where I am open to marriage. I am attractive, and men may desire me, but I must be deliberate about whom I choose.
“Kindness is the first thing I look for. It is one of the most appealing qualities. Before anyone can relate with me or even consider marrying me, they must be genuinely kind. Everything else can be worked on once this is established,” Isime said.
The actress also revealed that she feels ready to settle down and start a family, signalling her openness to finding a life partner.
When asked whether a future husband is already in the picture, Isime noted that even if he has not yet manifested, she remains hopeful and confident in her readiness for marriage.
Isime’s perspective contrasts with narratives that often highlight wealth and status in celebrity relationships. By placing emphasis on genuine kindness and compatibility, she is promoting the importance of meaningful and enduring partnerships rather than transactional relationships.
Nancy Isime is not alone in publicly expressing her readiness for marriage. Earlier this year, American singer Tamar Braxton spoke about her desire to settle down despite being 48.
Other celebrities have highlighted similar values in potential partners, stressing trust, respect, and shared principles over material possessions.
Despite her successful career in Nollywood and media, Isime reiterated that personal fulfillment and long-term happiness rely on finding a partner with integrity and compassion.
As fans and media continue to react to her interview, Nancy Isime’s perspective is likely to spark broader conversations about what qualities truly matter in relationships and the significance of selecting partners based on character rather than wealth or status.
