Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially joined the elite ranks of three-time Guinness World Record holders.
Her latest accolade follows confirmation that her September 2025 jollof rice cook not only set the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice but also claimed the title for the largest serving of rice overall.
Baci shared the exciting news on Instagram, updating her bio to “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder” and expressing amazement at the milestone. “Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026,” she wrote.
The Guinness World Records team confirmed the dual recognition in an email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering – Records Creative Team, explaining that her initial record-breaking attempt had inadvertently set another world record.
“Congratulations, you are officially amazing (again)! It has come to our attention… that when you and your team attempted and achieved ‘Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice,’ you also achieved the record title of ‘Largest serving of rice,’” Fanning stated.
The achievement occurred during a Lagos cookout, where Baci prepared a staggering 8,780-kilogram pot of jollof rice, enough to serve more than 16,600 people.
Guinness World Records officially verified the feat on September 15, 2025, making it the largest pot of jollof rice ever prepared globally.
This latest record builds on her May 2023 achievement, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, becoming Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
Reflecting on her accomplishment, Baci credited her team, particularly collaborator @oreoluwa_atinmo, for their crucial role in executing the record attempt.
“The very first person I called was @oreoluwa_atinmo, because this journey, this vision, and this record would not have been possible without her. We did this together. From idea to execution, side by side, fully aligned,” she said.
Baci also thanked God for guiding her journey and providing unexpected blessings.
“Honestly, God is faithful. The kind of faithful that still surprises you. This feels like such a beautiful reminder… What a blessing, and what a way to enter this new year,” she added.
The chef extended her gratitude to Guinness World Records for acknowledging her accomplishment and to all supporters who encouraged her along the way.
“To my incredible team, this is our win. Every long day, every detail, every push, it all mattered. To Guinness World Records, thank you for the recognition and for honouring this achievement. And to everyone who supported, believed, and stood with us, my heart is so full. Still processing. Still grateful. Still in awe,” she said.
Hilda Baci’s triple Guinness World Record achievement not only highlights her extraordinary culinary skills but also reinforces the global significance and ambition of Nigerian cuisine.
Her accomplishments continue to inspire chefs and food enthusiasts both within Nigeria and across the world.
