Damilola Adekoya (Princess)

Comedienne Princess publicly appeals to pastors for help in finding life partner

Nigerian comedienne Damilola Adekoya, widely known as Princess, has set social media abuzz after openly appealing to leading pastors to assist her in finding a husband, declaring that she is weary of being single and determined to get married in 2026.

In a video that has since gone viral on Instagram, the comedian directly called out prominent clerics, including Pastor Jerry Eze, Apostle Joshua Selman, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, and Pastor Femi Lazarus, urging them to connect her with responsible and God-fearing men within their congregations.

She explained that after years of praying and fasting, she is now backing her faith with action by speaking up.

Princess, who is divorced, disclosed that she is specifically interested in men in their late 40s or early 50s who are serious about commitment.

She added that they could be widowers or divorcees, but not separated, and asked the pastors to forward their Instagram handles to her direct messages so she could take things further. She also expressed confidence that she would be engaged by September.

“Nigerian pastors always tell us to pray, fast and back it up with action. I have prayed and now I am taking action. I need a kind and responsible man. I must be married in 2026,” she said in the video.

“If you have good men in your church who are in their 40s or 50s, please send their handles to my DM,” she added.

Princess further warned that she would not allow herself to be shamed for being honest about her desire for love and companionship. She added that if her appeal is ignored, she would continue calling out the clerics and even go as far as doing sponsored posts about her search for a husband.

Her video quickly gained traction online, drawing widespread reactions from fans, colleagues and social media users. While many offered prayers and words of encouragement, others who are also single joined her in the comments section, sharing their own struggles and frustrations about finding a life partner.

The comedienne’s public appeal comes amid her long-standing openness about her marital status. Princess has been divorced for several years and has repeatedly spoken about her desire to remarry, often leaving comments and prayer requests on the social media pages of popular pastors.

She is known for her strong Christian faith and active involvement in church programmes, particularly within ministries such as NSPPD, Eternity Network, Harvesters and Light Nation.

According to her, she has previously commented under several pastors’ posts expressing her desire to get married, only to be mocked by followers, a development she said pushed her to speak out publicly.

Princess has experienced a turbulent period in recent years, especially following the highly publicised Baba Ijesha sexual assault case involving her foster daughter. The episode exposed her to intense public scrutiny and emotional strain, and since then, she has often spoken about wanting peace, stability and a settled family life.
