DJ Cuppy and Anthony Joshua

“I love and care about him,” DJ Cuppy says of Anthony Joshua following his auto accident

International DJ and philanthropist Florence Otedola, popularly known as Cuppy, has recently used her LinkedIn platform to highlight the importance of expressing love and appreciation to friends.

DJ Cuppy stated this while reflecting on personal experiences that marked the end of 2025 and the auto accident the British boxer Anthony Joshua was recently involved in.

In a heartfelt post, the musician and humanitarian recounted recent events that reminded her how quickly life can change, urging her followers to communicate love and care to those who matter in their lives.

Cuppy referred to the recent car accident involving Joshua, emphasising that while the incident made headlines, the personal connection and ability to speak directly to a friend in need were more meaningful to her.

She revealed that Joshua called her from the hospital, allowing her to express love and concern without distractions or digital noise, underscoring the value of real human connection.

“He called me from the hospital yesterday, and I was able to speak to him on the phone. Not for noise. Not for the internet. Just to tell him that I love him and care about him.”

She noted that moments like these reinforced her gratitude not only for friendships but also for the opportunity to say what truly matters while one still can.

Cuppy also mourned the passing of Lats and Sina, close friends of Joshua, describing their deaths as a profound loss, adding a spiritual perspective on coping with unexpected tragedy.

Ending the year on a sombre note, she acknowledged the difficulty of processing pain while remaining hopeful, noting her faith in God’s plan despite circumstances that may not make sense.

She continued, “Please, LinkedIn do not take your friendships for granted. Say it. Call them. Tell people you love them while you have the chance. Thank You God for life.”

Her post on LinkedIn about the British boxer, though intimate and reflective, illustrates a recurring theme in Cuppy’s public life — combining influence with empathy, encouraging her audience to act with kindness, gratitude, and intentionality in relationships.

Beyond personal reflections, Cuppy has continued to maintain her status as one of Africa’s leading DJs and philanthropists, with a fanbase exceeding 17 million worldwide and recognition for her philanthropic initiatives through The Cuppy Foundation.
