Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Ruth Kadiri, has said that she prioritises her personal happiness and fulfilment over fame, insisting she will not compromise her sense of self for public approval.
Speaking on the Jay On Air podcast, she stated, “The last thing I want to do as a person is to lose myself in the process of being an entertainer. I need to be able to keep the wealth of happiness and fulfilment for myself whilst growing and building what I want to build. And I’m not going to let anybody sway me.”
She also spoke about the difficulty of being understood by others regarding her long-term career goals. She explained that while some may not grasp her vision, she relies on instinct and discipline to stay the course.
Equally important to Kadiri is the protection of her private life. In July 2025, she addressed speculation about her marriage, revealing that keeping it low-profile was a mutual decision with her husband.
She said the approach not only protects her personal peace but also shields her husband from public scrutiny, allowing him to lead a normal life away from the spotlight.
She told journalists, “My husband is not hidden. People who know me know him. That’s enough. We want our family life to be private and normal. It’s not about hiding. It’s about preserving peace.”
Kadiri is a mother of two. Despite her high-profile career, she has made it clear that protecting her family and maintaining a sense of personal fulfillment takes precedence over public recognition or attention.
With a career spanning more than twenty years, Kadiri began as a writer before transitioning into acting and producing. She has contributed significantly to numerous projects behind the scenes, some of which have gained wide acclaim.
