Nollywood actor, Dele Odule

Dele Odule reveals he was heartbroken by 200-level student

Veteran Nollywood actor, Dele Odule, has opened up about the inspiration behind his recent cryptic Instagram posts, revealing that he suffered heartbreak from a 200-level university student.

The Yoruba movie star disclosed this during a live session with popular content creator, Kamo State, who had expressed concern over a series of emotional posts Odule shared online.

Although the actor did not disclose the student’s identity or the name of the institution, he admitted that the heartbreak had a profound impact on him, sparking widespread speculation online about whether the revelation was genuine or a publicity stunt.

During the live chat, the session took a humorous turn when a voice in the background pointed out that the actor had not eaten his food, drawing laughter from viewers.

In one of his emotional Instagram posts, the 61-year-old wrote, “Leaving me is okay. People leave all the time. I’m used to it. What hurts is when you made me feel so special one day, and the next day, I was so unwanted. After you said the meanest thing to me, you came back to tell me you never meant it. You are mean, but I will crush your ego with silence. I will never allow anyone to make me feel I’m not enough.”

The message triggered mixed reactions online, with many fans debating whether the veteran actor’s words were drawn from real-life experience or tied to an upcoming movie role.

While some social media users mocked the actor for allegedly being romantically involved with a much younger woman, others came to his defence, arguing that love and heartbreak transcend age.

One user commented, “Has to be a movie PR because shame go wear me coat of arms if na real.”

Another wrote, “You sef, so na 200-level student be your soulmate? Nawa for you daddy.”

Others were more sympathetic, with a fan saying, “Love has no age limit and heartbreak has no limit.”

Odule, who has built a formidable reputation in the Yoruba film industry, is no stranger to sharing his emotional experiences publicly.

In past interviews, he revealed how a previous relationship ended abruptly when a woman he intended to marry claimed they were “not compatible.” He admitted that the breakup left him devastated and shaped his outlook on relationships.

In another interview, the actor described losing his first child as the “saddest moment” of his life, reflecting on how the painful experience changed him forever. He has also been candid about personal struggles, including fathering children from multiple relationships, which he once described as part of his life’s journey.

These earlier disclosures align with Odule’s recent posts on pain, self-worth, and resilience, which many of his followers now see as recurring themes in his life and work.
