‘No goal too high to achieve,’ DeeOne breaks Guinness World Record with 52-hour comedy stand-up marathon

Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother (BB) Naija housemate, Aderombi Martin, popularly known as DeeOne, has completed a Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt for the longest stand-up comedy performance by an individual, clocking 52 hours.

The record-breaking event began at midnight on October 2 and concluded on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Pallazo, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.

The marathon drew a large audience of supporters, fans, and industry colleagues, including notable Nigerian entertainers such as Pamilerin, Acapella, FunnyBone, Uche Maduagwu, Husband Material, EmmaOhMaGod, K-Solo, Constance Owoyemi, Akinolu Jekins, and Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st.

Speaking after completing the marathon, DeeOne said his motivation was to inspire young Nigerians and dreamers worldwide.

“No goal is too high to achieve,” he stated, emphasising perseverance and ambition as key drivers of success.

The comedian’s attempt has been submitted to Guinness World Records for official verification. If approved, DeeOne will join an elite list of individuals who have achieved record-breaking feats in comedy.

DeeOne first announced his intention to attempt the record in early September 2025. The initial plan called for a 40-hour marathon scheduled from October 2 to 4, 2025. He shared the announcement via a humorous Instagram video styled like a traditional burial poster, reflecting his signature comedic style.

The announcement generated significant media attention and social media buzz. Fans and fellow entertainers reacted with mixed opinions.  Some praised his ambition and dedication, while others questioned the feasibility of performing comedy for such an extended period.

Before the official attempt, social media clips showed DeeOne preparing for the marathon, giving audiences a glimpse of the energy and stamina required for the feat.

His preparation also coincided with other high-profile record attempts by Nigerian celebrities, including reality TV star Tacha, highlighting October 2025 as a month of ambitious and unconventional feats in the country’s entertainment industry.

The event not only showcased DeeOne’s endurance and comedic talent but also reinforced Nigeria’s growing presence on the global entertainment stage.
