The Donald Trump administration is considering pardoning award-winning rapper and Bad Boy Records founder, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, for his sex related crimes for which he was found guilty in July.
Recall that the Bad Boy rapper has been in prison since his arrest last September for coercing some of his girlfriends and for his drug-related sexual activities.
It is reported that he will be sentenced in October and faces a maximum of 20 years behind bars.
One of the lawyers of Combs, in an interview on CNN, confirmed that they have approached the Trump administration about a pardon for the rapper.
On the other hand, President Trump, who previously hinted that he had been considering pardoning Combs while he was still on trial, said he was wrestling with whether he would consider the pardon.
However, from Trump’s statement that Combs, who was his acquaintance, was hustle to him when he ran for office, it is likely the pardon may not scale through.
“They have talked to me about Sean. I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great, and he seemed like a nice guy.
“But when you knew someone, then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements – so, I don’t know, it’s more difficult,” Trump said regarding Comb’s potential pardon.
Despite Trump’s stance on the matter, the Bad Boy rapper, according to his lawyers, is hopeful about a pardon.
